Nice folks at CrossFit 3D

Don’t just take our word for it, see what our clients, past and present, have to say about CrossFit.

Andy, Crossfit Reading

I run CrossFit Reading. Karl was great when I was looking to affiliate. I often had to travel to Manchester and always popped in for a workout. It's always nice to have an experienced coach outline where you can improve technique. Karl's a top bloke too. If anyone lives CrossFit, it's Karl.

Through CrossFit I have been introduced to a way of training that has completely changed my life for the better. I have never considered myself sporty and was bored by a regular gym - so much so that I never bothered going. With CrossFit I have achieved a level of fitness that I am very proud of and in a shorter time than I would have believed possible.

Though I was only exposed to Karl's training for a two-day certification, his guidance has left an impression. His cues and encouragement moved me forward light-years from where I started. Many techniques I had been struggling with for weeks on my own become clear in just one day thanks particularly to Karl. It was amazing. In addition, I appreciate his personal blend of encouragement and sadism. Thanks Karl!

I was introduced to CrossFit back in 2007. From the outset it was obvious that training in CrossFit was going to be different - not only due to the nature of the CrossFit training itself but also the personality of the coach at the affiliate.

The CrossFit methodology of “constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity” meant that training sessions were no longer predictable and dull. The atmosphere of the group training sessions motivated you to train harder than you would on your own. Results were achieved far faster than through any other training method I'd experienced. Highly knowledgeable coaches corrected form and offered “words of encouragement” in a manner which I'd never seen before at a “conventional gym”.

CrossFit is certainly the most effective, and enjoyable, training method I have ever found. I look forward to meeting new friends, hitting new PBs and generally having a great time at CrossFit 3D!

Karl brings humour and professionalism to the job, and always knows when you've got a bit more to give and when you've had enough. He managed to motivate this 60 year old, and even though I'll not be able to get to the new facility very often, I remember the messages: Weight on the heels, tight mid-section, chest up!

I met Karl at my Level 1 CrossFit Certification and he made a lasting impression. Karl's ability to coach movement, discriminate between correct and incorrect execution and provide cues to fix faults made him stand out among the trainers… and that is saying quite a lot because the trainers there were all excellent. Karl also has a way of gaining and keeping your attention and imparting the most skill in a limited amount of training time. His style of coaching provides athletes with the motivation to get through a grueling workout or put forth the effort needed to acquire a new skill. When he praises correct performance, you know you have done it right. I am preparing to become a coach myself and Karl is one of my role models.

I've trained under Karl since June 2007 and I have to say he's one of the most infectious guys I've ever met. One of his many strengths is knowing how to motivate you when that dark voice in your head is telling you to give up. He manages to tailor his approach to the individual and have the uncanny knack of pushing you with just the right words. He knows when an arm around the shoulder may be needed or a stern statement when you know you're slacking. He's passionate about what he does and the success of the people he trains but he'll always add in his own unique sense of humour to proceedings.

I like that he champions the community element of CrossFit. It is plain for all to see how he will show support and take time to visit other UK affiliates, as well as help to cultivate a vibrant, social family atmosphere within his own gym. It's both the hardest and most rewarding training I've ever done in my life and having the pleasure to be instructed by Karl and to call him a friend also is an honour!

I started CrossFitting in July 2008 and competed in the CrossFit Games in July 2009. The reason I was able to do this is Karl's coaching and programming. The efficacy of Karl's approach is demonstrated by the gains that Fay and I have made in the past 18 months - there is no more I need to say on the subject.

I have learned a lot from Karl since moving to Manchester a couple years back. He has turned me into a fully fledged CrossFitter and has taught me what it means to be a coach and inspired me to open up my own affiliate. Karl is a great coach and it is a privilege to call him my friend.
